Last Sunday marked the three year anniversary of the car crash that took the life of our dear friend, Ryan Bennett, and injured his wife and four children.
One day prior to the three year anniversary--a fitting tribute took place. In late December 2006, we first reported that a street in West Valley City, Utah, would be dedicated in memory of Ryan. Well, nearly two and a half years later, it actually happened.
And because everything seems to happen in sets of threes, tonight we're announcing that our time here at the Ryan Bennett Memorial Fund is almost up. In an ideal world where time and money were not factors, we would leave this web site up forever as a lasting tribute to Ryan--a man whose kindness, good nature, and friendship we'd be mistaken to forget. But the reality is that both of those things are factors, and so we asked ourselves, "Is there anything more we can do to help?" The answer was no. Tonya and the kids are in good shape now, and our help, which was certainly needed at one time, is not needed anymore. So we decided... it was time.
Time is a funny thing. So much has changed since Ryan left us, and so much more will change as time goes on. We were all devastated when Ryan died, but as time went on, life went on, and people moved on... but they did not forget. Ryan may no longer be with us, but the memory of him and the person he was is alive in all of us so long as we never forget.
With that, we here at the Ryan Bennett Memorial Fund thank you for your support and generosity--we know for a fact the Bennett family appreciates everything you've done--and we bid you farewell. Here's to Ryan.
